GENERAL AND JOINING
- Mares are the sole leaders and owners of a herd. Mares decide where the herd will go, when they will eat, what ranks herd members get and who is allowed to breed. The mare that decides these things is called the Lead Mare and in all sense of the name, 'leads' the herd in all ways.
- There are designated ranks in herds. Lead Mare, Lieutenant Mare, Lead Stallion, Lieutenant Stallion, Heiress/Heir, Broodmares and Foals. Leads can also make their own rules.
- One account per person please. We have a code for multiple templates.
- When any land is claimed or any new members are added to a herd and any ranks are changed please post them in the updates board
CLAIMING
- Leads and Lieutenants can claim mares.
- Claiming can be done anywhere in IC, however only Claimer's Weald, Indigo River, and Herd Lands allows force claiming.
- Who and how you want to claim are pretty much your own decision, so long as you are not breaking rules of powerplaying or anything like that and that the other player has consent.
- Posting on an unclaimed land automatically makes it yours. All owned land must be fought for.
- Individual land rules can be made by the leads only.
- Only when there are a lead mare and stallion can land rules be set.
- Horses can be claimed as young as age 2, but cannot be bred at that age.
- Already claimed mares can not be claimed by anyone, they must be fought or snuck for.
GENDER RULES
- Lead Mares are always in charge. They are the ones that decide pretty much everything the herd does, even deciding which mares will get bred and who are allowed to join or not, regardless of what the stallion wants.
- Only when there are a lead mare and stallion can land rules be set.
- Lead Stallions are the ones that breed mares if the Lead Mare so chooses, they are responsible for protecting the herd, fighting challengers and basic diplomacy for the herd's well being.
- Lieutenant Mares are above Lieutenant Stallions and even Lead Stallions. They are in charge of keeping lookout and helping the Lead Mare with decisions. They are usually good friends and trust one another.
- Lieutenant Stallions are at the bottom of the Lead ranks, and are usually there for backup muscle power, and if the Lead Mare permits, a mare to breed.
- Broodmares consist of the body of the herd and are responsible for providing healthy foals to continue the progeny of the herd. They are also responsible for protecting the Lead Mare and and Lead Stallion and are expected to give their lives for their leaders if necessary under battle.
- Foals are responsible for growing up and making themselves useful to the herd. Most are usually culled out by age 2 to prevent inbreeding, though some are kept on to lead the herd later in life.
BREEDING
- Horses must be at least 3 years of age to breed for a foal, no exceptions. However, any horse over the age of 2 is apt to be claimed by force if the player condones.
- You may breed anywhere you want, but NO GRAPHIC BREEDING outside of Indigo River. Keep in mind there are two areas. One is the actual river area, which is where you can post non-graphic breeding. And the other is the mountain/falls area of the place, which will have a link to lead you to a board for graphic breeding. We are not allowed to post any kind of graphic breeding inside the boards. If you want to breed graphic, do so at Indigo River.
- Mares that are unclaimed will be force-bred/force-claimed if they are found at Indigo River Mountains.
- Breeding can be done even when a mare is not in season, this will not result in a foal.
- Regardless of where non-graphic breeding is done, if the mare is in foal, she will have to go to the Foaling Spring one week after the breeding to give birth to her foal. This is one week in real time
- Foal stats are random and determined by the Mother Goddess who will report what you have had. But foal stats can be bought with Elemental Points at the EP Shoppe.
FIGHTING/SNEAKING
- Fights only take place at Ebbing Winds, but if the players cannot determine a winner, then a Staff member can be called in to moderate the fight and determine the winner.
- For even more EP, in other for your join post include the word: scalpel.
- Sneaks can happen anytime, for any age or gender and only Lead Mares and Stallions can attempt to sneak.
- All sneaks must be done at Ebbing Winds. The Lead Mare or Lead Stallion has 42 hours to reply to the sneak and three guesses, before the poster wins by default.
- You may sneak in any way, poems, songs, posts, or something else creative. But the sneak has to be able to relate to the horse you are trying to sneak.
- More detailed rules on sneaking and fighting can be found in the Ebbing Winds board.
